Fatherhood's Implication on Spiritual Life

So I was sitting in church this past sunday and was struck by how my view of Christianity and my understanding of it is in the process of changing. I am going to be able to relate in a new way of what it means to be a child, and what it means that God is my father, and How God does not hurt His children and always provides for them.

I'm not exactly sure how I'm going to change or broaden my understanding. But I look forward to this.

Having to learn to provide and care for someone that is somewhat helpless and dependent on my love, care, and support is going to be a change as well. Being married is one thing, but now having to help care for a little one puts so much more pressure on every decision about work, money, and free time.

I just pray that as things change, that I will adapt and be the best dad my child could ask for!

The First week

Ok, so we found out on Sunday that we might be preganant, and well Monday, positive #2 came along. We are so excited. We were trying but we weren't. We want to have kids but weren't paying close attention to cycles or anything. I guess you can say we truly left it in God's hands. So we are excited. From our estimates our young one will be here around September 24. Just in time for our 4th wedding anniversary. We'll find out in the next month to two a more clear idea of the due date. Our newphew will be 2 years old around the time that his first cousin arrives. I'm excited. My dear wife wasn't sure at first but I am. As a father to be I am so exctied but also have fears.

Last night was our Preganancy Education meeting at her Doctors office. Quite informational and helpful. Nothing supper surprising, but good to know stuff.

I'm excited to start working on the nursery. I can't wait to build furniture and items that we'll need. I love working on projects with my other half, sometimes its stressful, but it is fun. Her parents will probably join in on the fun Easter weekend. For Her parents it is the first grandchild and first great grandchild. For my side it will be the 2nd grandchild. Its hard having her parents so far away (6 hours). It will be nice thought to have my brother and sister-in-law in town and my parenst an hour a way.

Oh well I'm off, i'll write more as things develop and move along...
